How much data do I need in Thailand?
Thailand is one of the cheapest countries in the world for travel data. You'll want data for Grab, Google Maps, LINE messaging and posting to social — but WiFi is widespread in hotels, malls and cafes.

Tips for data usage in Thailand
- 5–10 GB for a week is usually plenty for most travelers on tourist SIMs/eSIMs.
- AIS and TrueMove have excellent 4G in Bangkok, Phuket, Chiang Mai and tourist islands.
- If you're island-hopping or doing multi-day tours, a small buffer helps — coverage can be patchy and your phone may burn extra data searching for signal.
Major networks: AIS, TrueMove H, dtac. Budget data-only plans from 3–15 GB for 7–15 days, including social-media-unlimited bundles. Speeds on AIS/True are strong in Bangkok and tourist areas.
